In his book "Understanding Society," Michel Lalonde (2008) outlines the transformation, over the centuries, of this autarky into a market economy. The development of the market gave rise to the capitalist system. This system, which persists and maintains poverty in the world, raises actors of the social economy across the planet in several forms of action: the creation of cooperatives, mutual societies, and social entrepreneurship networks.
